with another check on our weather. everybody is back at school today. i think folks in virginia too. >> they went back yesterday and so today, we'll see another morning where it is okay. the conditions to head to school are okay. more clouds this morning. some of you out to the west may encount are a few showers here or there. at reagan national, the current temperature is 75 degrees. relative humidity is 66%. that is not bad. wind are out of the south. this is showing out cloud cover that comes through and than some of those showers. now, this overplays it a little bit. there are showers out to the west. they are not as numerous or impressive as this is showing. but it is showing some moisture associated with the frontal system that is coming through. so can't rule out a sprinkle or shower for some of our viewers early this morning. our temperature trend, after a high yesterday in the low to mid-90s, we're looking for a high today near 90 degrees. maybe about 89 degrees downtown and then for the rest of the week, highs only for the rest of the workweek, only in the upper 70s. low 8

, virginia is at 74 degrees. out at dulles, it is 726789 hagerstown, 75. winchester, 78. we are watching the wind. they are coming to us out of the south. it is not blustery or anything but it will be a breezy day. right now, winds are out of the south at about 10 miles per hour here in d.c. eventually, they will shift to out of the west. that should happen touring the next several hours as this frontal system make its way through here. we will know it is coming in a couple of ways. first of all, there is some shower activity in advance of that front. most of us won't get showers but we are see a few showers off to the west and southwest of the washington so don't be surprised if you encounter a shower or sprinkle this morning. then the front comes through. winds shift to out of the west. meanwhile, this is the remnants of tropical storm hermine. it is now just a tropical depression. but still producing quite a bit of rainfall across texas. that will gradually ride up along that front and then across the mid-atlantic and northeast and could bring us some rain showers by sunday, prapped t

, virginia area seeing those fires. and it has been extremely dry across our area. the good news is there is some rain in the forecast. but first a couple more very dry days. let's take a look. take a look at this. a little wind helps the sailboat go down potomac river. a beautiful day for a sail. winds gusting to 15 to 20 miles an hour. even upwards of 30 to 35. the cold front has now moved up its way. a cold front out there. what have we seen? the high pressure was 96 degrees. and boy, did we need to see a cold front. the record is up 100. we were four degrees short. luckily it is still not too humid. it has not felt all that hot across the area. speaking of 90-degree days so far this year, we're now number two is officially the warmest summer. the meteorological summer ever in the district. but the 90-degree days, we're at 6290-degree days. this could be it. we may not hit 90 the rest of the year based upon what i've been seeing. the temperatures down to 92 degrees now. the dew point of 33. the humidity, 13%. so extremely dry. that's why we have those red flag warnings in if h
